I can’t belive this is real life! I used to look at posts like this and dream of making it my reality.
Actually I kind of can believe this is real, I have worked so hard for it.
First things first, why am I even sharing with you how much I am making? – Isn’t that tacky?
Answer- Probably so!
When I was first looking at these posts before I began my journey I found them SO helpful! It helped me to figure out different ways I could be bringing in income.
Just a bit of background before I start, I am a corporate employee turned freetime freelancer. I took a chance on myself and never looked back. Although I love freelancing, I also love doing passion business projects of my own. In this case, this blog! I am a busy gal and looking forward to growing this freelancing/business journey with all of you!
How I Made the Money
I have 4 main clients that I do work for! The hourly rate I charge varies from $25-$30! I based that rate off my education and experience thus far. For example, I have been in this field for about three years now and have a business mangement degree! Not gonna lie, I don’t think the degree helped much butttt at least it sounds cool.
For the first client I worked 124 hours over the course of a month and got paid approximately $3,100. My hours worked involved daily posting on ltk and amazon storefront, writing blog posts, linking up items, creating graphics, and watching over collaborations.
My second client paid me approximately $1,232 for 44 hours over the course of the month. This clients worked involved daily posting on ltk, amazon storefront posting, tiktok posting + engagement, and graphic creation.
The third client paid me approximately $1,330 for 47 hours over the course of the month. The work involved weekly newsletter creation, writing blog posts, posting to ltk, graphic creation, and posting to pinterest.
My fourth client paid me $750 in the month of September for 4 blog posts. Each of these blog posts require about five hours of research and creation time! This client is my only client that is not in the influencer world, they are actually a nursery business that I have worked with since the beginning of my journey!
If you do the math, the reason I made this much is due to working my tail off!
At this point in my journey I am still very much in my “hustle era.” I worked hard to build my client list and I try my best to stay at the top of my game!
After a bit more experience, I plan to increase my hourly rate and decrease my workload. You can actually start out this way! If you have five years experience your hourly wage may look something more like $35+ an hour!
This freelance work is honestly amazing for college students, busy moms, and people looking for a little more side income!
Expenses I Had:
I put approximately 20% of this income aside for tax season! That money in addition to my write offs this month get me to that 30% taxed income range. That is the one thing you have to be aware of when getting into freelance work!
This work typically requires little to no expense! If I do run into something that the clients want that costs money they typically pay for it!
The only thing I take care of is all my personal devices and wifi!
However this month I did start my blog and take a course to continue to work on my business that required a little bit of $$!
$5 – The invoice website I use for clients (not necessary, but I like how it keeps track of everything! I use (Invoicehome).
$350 – Getting a self-hosted WordPress Pro Site
$30- Getting a blog theme from Etsy
$49- Elementor site builder (still needed some help even after that Etsy them lol)
$500 – Mastermind Course (This is Tony Robbins and Dean Grazios business course. It was worth every penny!)
My Plans for Blog + Business
As I mentioned previously I do plan to eventually increase my hourly rage and decrease my workload, but that is more of like a year from now plan. At this moment in time I actually have some other ideas to get some more income flowing!
This blog! Did you know blogs can make money too? Although that was not my main mission when starting this website, it is one of the many perks!
My goal is by the end of the year make my first $100 from this blog! I plan to do this through affiliate marketing, ad revenue, and possible brand sponsorships? Who knows, the options are endless!
But don’t you guys worry, I will be taking you along the entire journey and sharing how am I setting myself up to make money.
In addition to that, I plan to get my course launched on this site! I have a “How to Get Virtual Assistant Jobs for Influencers” course. It is a course that shares every single detail about getting your 1st client. The course is everything I wished I had learned before embarking on my journey.
I actually have a blog post written on the best way to find Virtual Assistant Jobs for Influencers! You can find that post here.
