On March 16, 2024 I had the absolute honor of marrying my best friend! Levi and I have been together for almost six years and enganged since my birthday last year, 4/27/2023. It has been such an incredible six years together and I can’t wait to continue going through life together.
I wanted to write down all the little details of our wedding day while it is still fresh on my mind, so here is a little wedding day recap!
Enjoy 🙂
5:00 AM
I am an early riser and our wedding day was not any different. I stayed at my parents house Friday evening, so my sister and I could get up and go for an early morning run.
I woke up, hydrated, drank coffee, snuggled with my puppy, watched some tiktok, and ate a banana waiting for Sarah to get up.
6:00 AM
What I forgot to account for was that it was pitch black outside. We opted for a 30 minute lifting session and a 2 mile run instead.
It felt amazing to spend this time together and my favorite days always start with a workout, so I didn’t want this day to be any different.
7:00 AM
Sarah and I took turns taking showers and getting prepped. My mom made us some eggs for a nice little breakfast. I didn’t want to eat anyting too out of my normal diet, so I didn’t end up bloated all day!
8:00 AM

Around this time my mom, Sarah, and I headed to my grandmas house to get ready. My grandma lives right across from the church we attend, so it only made sense to get ready there! Since I didn’t have a bridal party (by choice), it was nice to get ready with my family.
- A rough side note to this day is that my grandpa ended up at the hospital at 3AM due to a terrible nose bleed and blood clots in his stomach. My grandma was a mess thinking that they weren’t going to be able to make it to the wedding. Luckily though God had their back and they were dischard from the hospital with two hours to spare until the wedding! (Spoiler: They felt a little rough, but they made it! 🙂 )
9:30 AM
I opted out of a hair and makeup person and decided to do everything myself- with my sisters help. We are both fairly decent at makeup and hair, so decided we were confident in our capabilities. I also have very sensitive skin and already own the product my skin works well with, so I didn’t want to risk trying out all new products the day of.
I helped my sister with her hair and helped my mother-in-law and sister-in-law with some of their makeup. After that I did my own makeup and my sister helped with my hair.
It was such a fun and enjoyable time getting ready together.
11:00 AM
The photographer got there at 11 and began taking pictures of the getting ready process.
12:30PM
At this point I put on my dress and got fully ready. It was such a dream. My smile is so big thinking back to this moment. I went with a simple dress that was under $1K and I don’t regret it at all. I am a very budget friendly person, and I didn’t want to spend tons of money on a dress I would wear one time. Yes, it is a very important day, but I don’t get attached to the details.
1:00PM

I ate a few snacks and then went outside to take pictures! I wanted to keep things traditional and not do a “first look” with Levi. So all of the pictures before the wedding were of our individual photos and family pictures.

2:00PM
The nerves finally settled in! Not going to lie, right before I walked down the aisle I felt like I was going to throw up. Not because of marrying Levi, but just the build-up of the day was very intense lol.
We had a beautiful Catholic ceremony without Mass. It was short, sweet, and simple. We felt extremely connected and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Ah!
2:30PM
Following the ceremony, we took all the family portrait photos and photos of Levi and I!

3:30 PM
Our reception venue was about 45 minutes away from the church, so we wanted to provide transportation for our close friends and family. We booked a party bus right after the wedding to take us to the reception and then have a few drop offs during the evening. If you have budget leftover, I highly recommend this! Since we didn’t have a bridal party it was a fun way to get the party started after our ceremony.

5:00 PM
We ended up getting everything a done a little quicker than expected, so we had to make a few laps around the town lol.
At 5:00 PM we made our grand entrance into the reception and got straight to eating! One of my favorite parts :).
For dinner we had fried chicken, pork steak, rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, and salad! It was delicious. My favorite was the fried chicken and the wedding cake we later ate! My little brothers girlfriends mom made the cake and man is she talented! You’re awesome Char!!

6:00 PM
I am a straight to the point kind of person and I dont enjoy many traditional reception activities. Levi and I did the first dances with each other and our mother/father, but did didn’t do anything else. We skipped out on the dollar dances, bouquet/garter toss, and whatever other things people typically do lol. I actually asked a family friend if they enjoyed the wedding/reception and he said it was the best one he has been to because it was straight to the point.
It was the biggest compliment, because that is how I like things!!
Right after the first dances, I changed into a fun jumpsuit. I have always leaned more towards jumpsuits rather than dresses, so this was a fun one for me! Since I didn’t spend too much on a dress, there was enough room leftover in the budget for a fun jumpsuit!
I am so glad I decided to change. Dancing is one of my favorite activities so I wanted something that would be comfy to dance in. Not going to lie, the thought of just changing into a tshirt and shorts did cross my mind……
7:00PM – End of Reception

The rest of the evening ensued with the typical reception activities. The Dj did a great job and we enjoyed dancing and visiting with all of our friends/family.
One of my favorite memories was after the dj left we were cleaning up a little bit and all the people taking the final party pus home sat and ate fried chicken. It was the perfect treat to sober everyone up!
A huge thank you to my mom and dad and everyone else that made this day a success! It was such a blessing.
