Have you ever heard the phrase, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket?”
I like to apply that phrase to my business! In the business sense, I use this saying to have multiple income streams and not let all my income come from one place.
This can be confusing to navigate as a virtual assistant. You may think there’s only one way to make income as a virtual assistant, but I have found two other streams of income that work for me well (with more counting)!
Having multiple streams of income can be a reassuring thing to have. If the past few years have taught us anything, it is that nothing is for sure. I used to think that doing my own thing in the business world was a risky thing, but it could actually be more beneficial to have my income in my own hands. I have friends that have been laid off twice in a year from a corporate job. Talk about a scary feeling!
This only reassures my desire to have a few different streams of income, to keep things moving!
1. Direct Contact Clients
My first stream of income is my direct contact clients. The clients I work with daily and perform hourly work for. These are the services that the majority of my day takes up!
Curious about some services to offer? You can view that post here.
2. Contract Workers
My second stream of income comes from my contract worker clients! I am choosing to set up my business kind of like an agency. That way in the future I will be able to be hands off the business.
The way I structure this is I bring on new clients and and pair them with one of my contract workers. I chat with the client and contract worker daily to make sure all tasks get completed, and that everything goes smoothly. If the contract worker is ever busy or can’t complete something then I will jump in and complete the task.
For these contract worker clients I take a small commission. I actually come from an agency background and know what it’s like to do all the work and only get paid pennies compared to what the company brings in. That’s why I was passionate about starting my own, and paying people a wage that feels good!
3. Influencer Virtual Assistant Course
My third stream of income is my influencer virtual assistant course. Through this course, I teach others how to do what I do! Aka work as a virtual assistant for influencers/content creators.
I built this course after taking Tony Robbins and Dean Grazios mastermind workshop. The entire workshop was based around building a course!
The course is a flat rate of $60 in exchange for lifetime access.
I built this course to be able to help others as well as have some passive income! Passive income is the best way to earn income while saving time. This course, for example, is a one-time thing I did, that I could never touch again and gather income from.
Future Streams of Income
Here are a few income streams that will be in my future (gotta have that confidence! They are things I work on weekly to help grow and build the business. 🙂
Youtube
I actually have a Youtube channel that I am working on building! Videos are my favorite form of content in which I provide value. Income through Youtube isn’t my main goal, but I hope that one day I will reach a point in which I recieve Adsense/brand deals!
Website
Along with Youtube, I enjoy posting content on this blog! I think they are a great way to receive information, and it’s a fun way to connect with people. Some people may say blogs are old-fashioned, but I still find myself looking up content daily on blogs/websites.
Affiliate Income
One of the ways many creators/businesses start out making income is through affiliate links and codes. These are personalized links that brands give you, and when used, a brand usually pays a small comission.
Brand Deals
Another great income stream in the content creator field is through brand deals! Many creators partner with brands they love and use. For the virtual assistant world, I could partner with brands like Canva, InvoiceHome, Slack, QuickBooks, and other apps I frequently to help with the business!
